Cheese is a great source of calcium, but has always been recommended a moderate consumption of them, due to its high content of saturated fat.
Nowadays, thanks to the studies that the scientists of Ireland have carried out, we know that eating cheese is not fattening as much as previously thought.
In these studies at University College Dublin, the impact of dairy consumption in 1,500 people aged between 18 and 90 years, revealed that people who consume dairy products regularly are thinner assessed that those who do not.
Cheese is the main source of calcium.
Another important fact, is that consumption of dairy products did not raise cholesterol levels in the participants of this study and seems to could help to reduce blood pressure.
According to the lead author of the study, Dr. Enma Feeney, they observed in people who consume cheese on a regular basis, that their cholesterol level was the same as that of people who did not consume, despite the saturated fats that contain the fatty cheeses.
